Lake Travis

The Lake Travis School District is huge and encompasses the communities of Lakeway, Bee Caves, Spicewood, Hudson Bend and even parts of Dripping Springs. The nationally-ranked schools and beautiful hill country and lake views are responsible for the area’s explosive growth. On Fall Friday Nights, you will find the community focused on football. Come out and root for Lake Travis High School and see why they are nationally recognized year after year.

The Hill Country Galleria is a lovely outdoor mall and popular gathering place featuring boutique shops, movie theater, a library, local restaurants, Whole Foods Market, Barnes and Noble, and more.

For outdoor lovers, the zip line tours over the lake and hill country are a blast. I was nervous at first but once the very capable staff at Lake Travis Zipline walked us through everything, I never gave it another thought. The hikes to the various zip lines are beautiful and you can rent a cozy cabin and stay overnight or just go for the day.

We have so many gorgeous hill country wineries offering activities including picnics, lavender festivals, grape stomps, dinner with wine pairings, tours and more. There are several tour services that drive you from one winery to another so you can enjoy the wine offerings and not worry about driving.

Along Hamilton Pool Road are three Central Texas treasures for nature enthusiasts. Hamilton Pool, Reimer’s Ranch and Westcave Preserve are known for their beauty, natural swimming holes, hiking trails and some serious rock climbing. Check the parks before you head out to make sure they are open.

The Bee Cave Sculpture Park weaves throughout a beautiful 7-acre natural setting showcasing a combination of permanent and rotating sculptures. It is free to the public. There is also a children’s play area. sculpturesofbeecave.org
