Moving to Austin

Congratulations! You truly are moving to one of the coolest cities in the US. Here are three things you want to consider before you start thinking about the number of beds and baths.

  1. Commute – We’ve been hearing for years that hundreds of people a day move to Austin. That means traffic. Since this affects your quality of life, you want to buy with your commute in mind.
  2. School Districts – This is important even if you don’t have children in public school as a school’s reputation will impact your property’s resale value.
  3. Taxes – If you are moving to Texas from out of state, you will learn that Texas doesn’t have a state income tax so our property taxes are a little higher. In addition, the tax rate in Austin and surrounding areas can vary from 1.8 – 3.1%. Take notice whether you are in a MUD district or high tax area.

I will select your property search criteria with all of these factors in mind and advise you on what it all means.
